The Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum is a hidden gem and the only museum in the state of Colorado dedicated to the veterans of all of America’s wars. Additionally, the exhibits for each war highlight the actions and bravery of those men and women from Colorado, promoting the local hero. The museum is managed/operated by veterans, and they provide a pretty robust tour, which is totally kid friendly. On the second and fourth Saturday’s of each month, the museum hosts a coffee and conversation social where they bring in a guest speaker to talk about his/her experiences and wars, and serve refreshments. The museum also has a library, but you have to me a member to checkout books and movies. This was my first joint service museum and I was quite impressed. It takes about 45 minutes to view the museum, which includes the exchange of some friendly branch smack talk depending on who greets you, lol. But, above all, it was nice just to be around some veterans and sharing experiences.
