Hachinohe Sansha Taisai Float Festival

The Sansha Taisai Festival in Hachinohe, Japan is considered to be Tohoku’s most beautiful festival. The floats are the main attraction as people from the community work to build them every year. The floats are based on mythology, legends, fairy tales and Kabuki plays. The festival offers attic displays and a parade in the downtown area. Parking is limited and streets are packed with visitors; therefore, families with children should not bring a wagon or stroller as it’s difficult to navigate through the crowd. There are tons of street vendors for food, including snacks for the kids.
