The Aomori Nebuta Festival occurs every August; however, if you missed it, you can still gawk at the awesome craftsmanship of the floats displayed at the museum. The best part about the museum is that it is located on the waterfront, and on the weekends there are drumming and dancing performances in which you can participate. The museum also contains a gift shop and restaurant. If you would like to eat at the restaurant, it is best to call in advance to make a reservation as there are numerous tours at they get booked up quickly. If there is no availability at the restaurant, you can eat and drink at the A-Factory which is located next door. They have menus in Japanese and English. What makes A-Factory so special is that it has an apple-cider brewery on-site. The entire area is great for children as there are hands-on displays at the museum and all of the tourist attractions are within walking distance. It’s vest to park your vehicle at the museum and walk. The museum will even give you a discounted parking rate if you make a visit. You can also choose to ride the train as the museum is located down the street from Aomori Station.
