Georgetown

Georgetown is a gem to visit, after all, it is Washington’s oldest neighborhood, founded in 1751. When in town, start out at M St NW, which is the neighborhood’s main vein that is jammed packed with stylish stores, sleek restaurants and cupcake shops.

The Georgetown Waterfront Park sits along the Potomac River, is a favorite park for couples on their first date, families on an evening stroll, and those famous people showcasing their yachts. During the winter months, an ice rink is built and replaces the fountains.

The area draws plenty of tourists, from college students to diplomats, but the best time to visit is during the daytime. Lastly, Georgetown is a terrific cycling spot, and the neighborhood has several bike-rental shops that makes it easy to get rolling.
