National Museum of American Indian

The National Museum of the American Indian offers storytelling, lots of family programming, and cultural artifacts related to the indigenous people of the Americas. The museum has four floors, in which the ground floor has the Mitsitam Native Food Cafe which is one of the Mall’s most-popular dining options because it introduces visitors to the Native American cuisine of five different regions, i.e. Northwest coast (cedar-planked wild salmon), Great Plains (buffalo chili), and Northern Woodlands (maple-brined turkey). The cafe also offers fast food staples such as tacos and burgers. The best floor is The ‘Our Universe’ gallery displaying Native American beliefs and creation stories.

The museum is in a perfect location as it’s adjacent to the US Botanical Garden and US Capitol; therefore, there is tons of available parking.
